Canadian Fraters Take a Road Trip to the States

Fraters from Canada visit OGCINDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Fraters from the Tau-Omega Chapter (Carleton Univ.) showed up at the Offices of the Grand Chapter to see the new home of TKE and meet with the Associate Regional Director Matt Gutierrez Monday. In total, 10 Tekes toured the facility while two other sets of men from their chapter visited other locations. This annual journey to see more of the TKE Nation helps show the true size and strength of our great organization to them and all those they visit.

"Every year we get to meet some great Fraters and talk about best practices," said Frater David Meffe. "In most colleges of Canada, the Greek system is just now emerging and we can learn a lot to bring back with us to spread the fire of TKE to them."

The men set out to visit as many chapters as possible, including stops at the University of Akron (Beta-Rho), The Ohio State University (Omicron) and IUPUI (Upsilon-Iota). Their group is hitting nine states and hoping for an additional three (3) or four (4) more chapters over the week.

The Fraters who visited the headquarters are:
  • Anthony McLachlan
  • David Meffe
  • Kyle Purdy
  • Sean Finn (Collegiate Advisory Committee Member)
  • Corey Fee
  • Renner McCreath
  • Nick Lamourex
  • Darren Falcioni
  • Matt Cimon
  • Jon Constable
"This type of trip aids in the understanding of international fraternalism," said Frater Sean Finn. "This is a cheap, fun and educational alternative for spring break. We learn so much from meeting these men and I think they learn from us too."

The other groups are hitting several chapters before converging on Baltimore for the Regional Leadership Conference this weekend (Feb. 25-26).

Are you heading on a TKE road trip soon? Let us know about it. The OGC extends a warm thank you and safe travels to all of the men from the Tau-Omega chapter.
