1. National Down Syndrome Convention Day Camp 
   (150 people = 140 participants + 10 staff) 
   Similar to the Kid’s Day at Conclave 2007, there will be 10-15 rotating stations (all indoors) including games, music, face painting, reading, etc. for children attending the National Down Syndrome Congress Convention.
   
   The purpose of the NDSC is to promote the interests of people with Down syndrome and their families through advocacy, public awareness, and information dissemination on all aspects of Down syndrome. The mission of the NDSC is to provide information, advocacy and support concerning all aspects of life for individuals with Down syndrome. The NDSC is financially supported primarily through membership dues and individual contributions.
    
2. San Antonio Food Bank     
   (250 people + Food Bank staff )
   Tekes and Guests will work with the Food Bank staff (all indoors) on packaging and sorting food which will be distributed to the  San Antonio community.
   
   The San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB) is a non-profit organization that serves as a clearinghouse by receiving and storing truckloads of donated food, produce, and other grocery products. Last year, the SAFB received more than 44 million pounds of food, produce, and grocery products. These products are distributed over 500 human service agencies that help southwest Texans in 16 counties.
    
3. Promise Neighborhood + Sam Houston HS  
   (200 people + 100 local students) 
   Here, participants will engage in multiple projects with local youth (indoors and outdoors) including bag stuffing, courtyard maintenance and renovation/ repair.
   
   The East Side of San Antonio is home to some of the city's richest history of triumph, beauty and accomplishment. And yet, the profound assets of the children, youth, elders and families are often overshadowed by challenges facing the neighborhood such as low graduation rates, high poverty, aging homes and a highly mobile population. The Promise Neighborhood is one effort to help.

In addition, everyone is asked to participate in Communities in Schools Stuff the Bus. "Every year, too many San Antonio children start the school year without the tools they need to succeed – simple school supplies such as pens, pencils, paper, notebooks, crayons and more. You can help change that by contributing to one of the largest school supplies drive in South Texas!" For more than 26 years Communities In Schools of San Antonio has helped kids stay in school and achieve in life. CIS-San Antonio works with more than 8,000 students and their families on 74 campuses in 8 school districts across Bexar County. For more information, go to cissa.org.         

ALL Conclave attendees are encouraged to bring school supplies (see list below) to donate. Collection boxes will be available at registration.
