INDIANAPOLIS - On Sunday, April 26, 2015, Fraters of the Sigma-Gamma chapter at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh gathered with the fraternity and sorority community to celebrate a remarkable year in classrooms, on campus and in the community.

The Sigma-Gamma chapter received the following awards at the ceremony:

  • Most Improved Chapter
  • Excellence in Standards
  • Philanthropy Initiative Award – Presented for TKE-Saw
  • Emerging Leaders Award – Frater Frank Arduini
  • Excellence in Academics – Frater Kevin Clayton
  • Excellence in Academics – Frater Sapoon Dutta
  • Fraternity Man of the Year – Frater Shaun Reardon
  • Faculty Advisor of the Year – Jim Sherman

Further, Faculty Advisor Jim Sherman made a deal with the Sigma-Gamma chapter earlier in the year that if the group earned the award of Most Improved Chapter, he would join the Fraternity's brotherhood. His initiation is set for this fall.

The Offices of the Grand Chapter is extremely proud of the Sigma-Gamma chapter and their remarkable accomplishments. "They have done a lot this year," said Northeast Regional Director Pete Dawson. "Keep an eye on them. I trust we will see big things from Plattsburgh in the future."
