Zeta-Theta Chapter
Western Illinois University

Responsibilities
As the Chief Executive Officer, I am responsible for the overall management of Tau Kappa Epsilon. The Fraternity has a full-time paid staff, a multi-million dollar operating budget, and chapters and colonies across North America. I serve as the primary interface between the Fraternity and the media, key constituencies, and various boards and committees. I am the lead staff member on all legal disputes related to the Fraternity, and coordinate the programs and services offered by the Offices of the Grand Chapter to our membership.

About Me

I was born in Wisconsin, raised in Illinois, spent 3 years living in Germany just before the wall fell, several years in Minnesota and now Indiana for 17 years. I began my collegiate career at Western Illinois University and transferred to Augustana College receiving double degrees in Business and Accounting.

Prior to Tau Kappa Epsilon I was the Interim CEO for 18 months at the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA [put link http://www.nshmba.org/]). NSHMBA is the largest Hispanic MBA society in the USA covering more than 8,000 members nationally. Prior to that, I was with the IBM Corporation where I worked in numerous global executive and management positions – most recently as World Wide Business Transformation Executive on IBM Headquarters Staff.

As a community leader I have led National Engineering Week across Indiana covering 30,000 students in ten years on careers in STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. I am also the founding President of the Indianapolis Chapter of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs. Through NSHMBA I also co-founded Project Stepping Stone (put link www.ProjectSteppingStone.org) a program that helps at-risk Latino youth find their way to college. In this program I have spoken to over 10,000 Latino students over the last eight years.

I also serve on other National Boards: Board of Trustees - Indianapolis Zoo, the 10th largest zoo in the USA. National Board Director – AVANCE, ‘Parents, the first teacher. Home, the first classroom.’ National Board Director - National Board of National Society of Hispanic MBA’s State Commissioner - Indiana Civil Rights Commission (By appointment from Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels)

I am a proud donor to the TKE Educational Foundation (Opportunity Out of Defeat Club).

What I Like To Do in My Free Time
I enjoy doing activities with my family and friends. I am a huge sports enthusiast generally preferring to play versus watch. In the summers you\\\'ll find me boating, Harley riding or just relaxing on the lake. Helping others with education is also a passion. I volunteer a lot of my time to help advance our youth to college and then into good jobs. My focus is education, leadership and community. By helping others I also promote others to give back as well.
