TEF President/Advancement Officer
The TEF President/Major Gift Officer provides staff guidance and support for all committees of the TEF Board including Investments, Budget and Finance, Awards and Scholarships, Board Development, Marketing and Programs Committees. In addition,
Frater Reed in an integral part of new board member recruitment, training and engagement. The President/Major Gift Officer assists our donors who choose to make generous commitments in gifts and planned gifts to support their chapter or the Foundation-supported educational programs. Key programs supported by the Foundation include the Charles R. Walgreen Jr. TKE Leadership Academy, Regional Leadership Conferences and Alumni Volunteer Training programs. Frater Reed also recruits and supports those who choose to join the TEF Business Council and members and their wives who become Foundation Ambassadors. Much of what we do in fund raising activities depends on volunteer engagement. Frater Reed recruits and empowers volunteers to help in the fund raising process in order to keep our chapters and Foundation strong. Traveling extensively, Frater Reed visits our members from coast to coast. Every chapter who reaches out to engage the Foundation in helping to meet their fund raising objectives for Chapter projects, Frater Reed stands ready to help. In the five years following 2010, the TEF has provided $1.9 million in scholarships, Fraternity grants and Chapter grants.
I have been a Teke since 1972 and cherish each friendship and experience I have been fortunate enough to have since then. I am especially delighted to see my home chapter come back to The Defiance College and to see my little brother – Mark Klein become the Chairman of the Board of Advisors.
What I Like To Do in My Free Time
TRAVEL! You would think I would get a big enough dose of travel with TKE! But not so! I enjoy international travel to Mexico, Europe and Central America and plan to see South America, India, Canada and the Middle East in the years ahead.
