USC BEL13VE CHALLENGE - Epidural Stimulation Research Fundraiser

USC BEL13VE CHALLENGE - Epidural Stimulation Research Fundraiser

When: October 13 - 26, 2017

Where: TKE Beta Sigma - USC
631 W. 28th St.
Los Angeles, CA 90007

TKE Beta Sigma Chapter has been raising money for one of our Fraters, Jack Jablonski, who was paralyzed from the chest down six years ago while playing ice hockey. So far, we have raised about $34,000 for epidural stimulation research, which is a new technology that has given clinical patients the ability to regain control of their legs. A TKE alum has even agreed to match our donations dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000!

This year, TKE is on a mission to raise funds and awareness for the Jack Jablonski BEL13VE in Miracles Foundation. Jack is our friend and fraternity brother, who has inspired us beyond belief. Jack was paralyzed playing in a Minnesota high school hockey game in 2011. He spent months in the hospital and in a rehabilitation center as he worked hard on his recovery. Now, on a mission to make paralysis no longer permanent, Jack’s foundation is raising money for a promising new technology called epidural stimulation. It is essentially a battery pack that is surgically attached to the spinal cord. In the first Mayo Clinic trials, the patient was able to regain control of his leg.

It’s truly amazing, but it will take numerous rounds of trials before this technology is approved and available to the public. To learn more about epidural stimulation, check out this video:

We are asking you to donate however much you can. Even as little as $13 (Jack’s jersey number) would make an incredible difference. Help us to help Jack create the miracle of recovery for millions of Americans.
