INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The finalists are in for the 2013 TKE International Sweetheart Contest and Scholarship. Voting is now open through April 20th. Take a look at those who may be representing TKE interfraternally in the upcoming school year. Finalists have been notified, along with their affiliate organizations. In alphabetical order, here are your finalists:

Emma Carter representing Epsilon-Beta

Emma Carter

Sorority: Alpha Chi Omega
Major: International Business & Marketing/Pre-Law Concentration

Emma is vice president of alumni relations and past pledge class president of Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity as well as vice president of finance of the Collegiate Panhellenic Council. She is a Spartan Transition and Resource Team member (with honors), assisting the office of student conduct and orientation at UT, and a brand representative of Intern Sushi Corporation. Awards include the Presidential Scholarship and Honors College. In addition, Emma has volunteered her time working with The Spring, Tampa Bay's local domestic violence shelter, and various school events such as Freshman Orientation and Relay For Life. She started Faculty Appreciation Day to honor the faculty of the John Sykes School of Business and created an event to support soldiers overseas for the annual Make A Difference Day.

 

Rachel  Ehrenberg representing Nu-Iota

Sorority: Phi Sigma Sigma
Major: BA in Theatre Performance

Rachel is president of her sorority; she has served as Major Events chair and Member-at-Large chair. She is also writer/blogger for the online magazine Her Campus UIC where the women of UIC can get personalized information about what's happening on their campus. She has been on the Dean's List for five semesters and was nominated for the Chancellor's Student Service Award. Rachel's volunteer efforts include Susan G. Komen's Race for the Cure, Animal Care and Control Center, Chicago Marathon, Thanksgiving Food Drive, Fight for Air Climb, Hot Chocolate Run, blood drives, and multiple fundraisers for the National Kidney Foundation.

 

Jessica Marie Gilkerson representing Pi-Omicron

Jessica Marie Gilkerson

Sorority: Delta Zeta
Major: BS in Nursing

Jessica is a representative for the Delta Zeta Standards Board and Panhellenic Council vice president of programming. She is a member of the Student Alumni Association, Golden Key International Honor Society, and Order of Omega Honor Society. Jessica was honored as 2013 Region XIII runner-up for outstanding chairman and Homecoming Court Queen nominee (top 10). She received the Governor's Scholar Program Scholarship for 2009–13. She has been involved with the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, Chicks and Chucks Breast Cancer Organization, Adopt-A-Highway, Carlisle Christian Church, Children's Hospital in Cincinnati, and helping serve the homeless population of Covington.

 

Ashley Heimback representing Beta-Xi

Sorority: Kappa Alpha Theta
Major: Business Management/History

Ashley is involved in many activities, including Greek Sing Captain, Recruitment Committee, Greek Week Committee, 21st Century Greek Committee, Heart to Heart, and Greek InterVarsity. She is administrative secretary and ritual marshal of Kappa Alpha Theta and cheer coach. Ashley holds an International Business Certificate, was on the Dean's List fall 2009, 2011 and 2012, and represented ASU Greek Life at the UIFI conference. She has volunteered as a camp counselor for individuals with developmental disabilities and works with inner city youth and military children, for Phoenix Children's Hospital, and as a vacation Bible school leader at Crossroads Church. She has also assisted with Best Buddies and the Arizona Animal Welfare League.

 

Eva Rosamilia representing Kappa-Kappa

Sorority: Delta Phi Epsilon
Major: Public Relations

Eva serves as Fundraising chair, Greek Excellence chair, and Sunshine chair of Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority. She is responsible for promoting a positive attitude within the chapter by emphasizing achievements, celebrating birthdays, and acknowledging awards. She is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America and holds the position of Social Media Executive for a specific campaign team. Eva has received an academic scholarship and has been on the Dean's List. She partakes in several community service activities, such as The Big Event, Relay For Life, ANAD (Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders) Vigil, and walks for Light the Night, Breast Cancer and Cystic Fibrosis. She also helped with table fundraising and fundraising/labor for Hurricane Sandy.

Sorority: Gamma Phi Beta
Major: Political Science

Maria has served as supervisor of the Oakland University Housing Dept. (S.O.P.E.) since 2010, is Housing Ambassador, and secretary of the Apartments Community Council. She is a member of the Student Program Board, Main Stage Committee; Oakland University Student Congress, University Partners – Leadership Detroit, and general member of the Greek Council. Maria is a recipient of the Oakland University Recognition Award, Housing Award, and Oakland University Geographic Region Award. She is special events/fundraising coordinator of the OU Food Pantry Committee, a Circle K volunteer, team leader for Campus Cleanups, and group leader for the Flushing Kids Running Club. Maria also volunteers at the Oakland University Center for Autism Research, Education and Support.
