Erich M Ploog (Leaders Society & Life Loyal Teke) embarked on his Tau Kappa Epsilon journey at the Epsilon-Omicron chapter at the University of Houston where he was initiated in 1989. Throughout his undergraduate career, he served as Prytanis, Hegemon, and Recruitment Chairman among other roles and earned recognition as a Top Teke, while the chapter itself received accolades as a Top TKE Chapter in two consecutive years. He is a proud graduate of Leadership Academy II, and has continued to contribute to this program by serving as a facilitator at five additional Academies to date. A Life Loyal Teke, he has served as a member of the Grand Council since 2019, initially joining as an At-Large Member. He became Grand Hegemon in 2021 and was elected to the Grand Crysophylos role at the 2022 Conclave in his adopted hometown of Houston. Frater Ploog currently chairs the Finance Committee for the Fraternity and serves on several others including Risk and External Affairs.
Frater Ploog received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston in 1993 and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas in 2001.
In his professional realm, Frater Ploog serves as Managing Partner of a highly acclaimed architecture and design firm headquartered in Houston. Renowned for crafting bespoke projects tailored for professional athletes, celebrities, and business leaders worldwide, his firm consistently garners international recognition. The Andrew Martin Review consecutively listed it among the Top 100 design firms globally from 2021 to 2023.
Before delving into the architecture and design realm, Frater Ploog accumulated over two decades of experience in organizational change management. He honed his expertise at prominent consulting firms like IBM and Anderson Consulting advising Fortune 100 leaders on strategic change and technology integration. Through his work, he engaged with renowned corporations such as Shell, Toyota, New York Life, DuPont, Chevron, State Farm, and Thomson-Reuters, gaining invaluable insights and experience.
Frater Ploog's multifaceted background encompasses both corporate and entrepreneurial landscapes, enriching his contributions to TKE. He champions entrepreneurship and leadership within the fraternity, nurturing aspiring Fraters to transform their talents and passions into thriving business ventures.
When he's not immersed in his professional and fraternal duties, Frater Ploog resides in Houston with his partner, Ben. He actively participates on various volunteer boards, notably the University of Houston Bauer College of Business Board. Additionally, he holds membership in the esteemed Design Leadership Network (DLN) and dedicates time to mentoring aspiring professionals in creative industries.
