James Staerk '81 Memorial Golf Tournament benefits the "James W. Staerk '81 Scholarship Fund" for students with documented disabilities at La Salle University. Those of us who attended La Salle University between 1977 and 1981 were accustomed to seeing Jim Staerk motoring across campus in his wheelchair - on his way to class or to the Student Union to have lunch with his fraternity buddies. Jim's determination and sharp wit were an essential part of the fabric of our school through those years and beyond.
After La Salle Jim took his 'can-do spirit' to Villanova Law School and then to the Montgomery County Prosecutors Office for the next 27 years. Although Jim could not open a door for himself, he taught us that no barrier is too great to overcome. Hundreds, if not thousands, have opened a door for Jim. Let's keep opening doors for those like Jim by supporting the 6th Annual James Staerk '81 Memorial Golf Tournament.
All TKE local TKE alumni are invited to participate.
