Frater Darren Garvey Opens Brewery in Hawaii
After years of planning and months of delays, Frater Darren J. Garvey (Rho, West Virginia University) and business partner Eric T. Jackson are set to officially celebrate the grand opening of Stewbum & Stonewall Brewing Co.
Following a successful fundraising campaign, where more than $50,000 was raised through Kickstarter, Stewbum & Stonewall have perfected their Hawaiian-inspired brews: Makana Island Wheat – Belgian Style Wit (4.8% abv, 17 IBUs); Batch 518 – American Pale Ale (5.18% abv, 51.8 IBUs); and the Smoking Cannon – Smoked Imperial Stout (8.2% abv, 54 IBUs).
"The dream has been there for about seven years," said Frater Garvey in an interview with Beer in Hawaii, a local blog. "Of course, turning dreams into reality takes years and years of learning, dedication and planning."
The grand opening for Stewbum & Stonewall Brewing Co. will take place tonight, July 24, at 9 p.m. at Lulu's Waikiki in Honolulu, Hawaii.

About Stewbum & Stonewall Brewing Co.
Here at Stewbum & Stonewall Brewing Co. we believe in amazingly fresh and tasty brews. The legend of Stewbum & Stonewall began in the early 1970's when two fine gentlemen, Joseph T. Garvey (aka Stewbum) and Thomas R. Jackson (aka Stonewall) met in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. An instant friendship was formed based on camaraderie, football, shenanigans, cars, music, general monkey business, and of course, beer. This brewery was founded by Darren J. Garvey (son of Stewbum) and Eric T. Jackson (son of Stonewall) as a tribute to the friendship and lives of our fathers.
