St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Quick Facts

10 Million in 10 Years for St. Jude
  • St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
  • Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
  • Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since its opening. We won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.
  • Because the majority of St. Jude funding comes from individual contributors and partners like Tau Kappa Epsilon, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most – saving kids regardless of their financial situation.
  • St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.

St. Jude No More Cancer Rally

This event is inspired by No More Chemo Parties at St. Jude. When kids complete their treatment, everyone gathers to celebrate. Introduced officially at Conclave 2019, chapters are provided the tools for an out-of-the-box fundraising event that makes a big impact on attendees. A No More Cancer Rally will be one of the most energetic and positive events a group can hold.

The event features a series of challenges to compete in and share the mission of St. Jude and inspire donations to fund the life-saving work and research. Participants earn points by marking completed challenges in the Rally app.

A No More Cancer Rally will typically last 60-90 minutes. During the one-hour No More Cancer Rally at Conclave 2019 (above), Tekes raised more than $25,000.

Interested in hosting a No More Cancer Rally at your campus? Contact stjude@tke.org at least three weeks before your event and we will help you set it up!

St. Jude Guide to Fundraising

When Frater Danny Thomas (Gamma-Nu, Toledo), founder of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, spoke of the “unifying bond that grows from young men working together” in the fall 1978 issue of THE TEKE magazine, he was speaking of the positive actions of Tekes across the nation in support of St. Jude.

“Every time we’d think we had enough for the next year, researchers would come up with a bigger need,” said Danny. “Fortunately, with people like my Fraters in TKE, we have been able to accomplish what we initially thought was a hopeless task.”

As St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital continues to pave the way in groundbreaking medical advancements in the name of pediatric care, Tau Kappa Epsilon has been present for every milestone. We are excited to continue on the journey for years to come.
