Yooper. I attended Northern Michigan University where I received a degree in Outdoor Recreation, Leadership and Management. As a collegiate, I took advantage of the many opportunities TKE provided me, holding
multiple positions within my chapter and attending every educational conference I could. I truly believe in the pursuit of being better than I was yesterday.
I was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (Yooper), joined the TKE Staff in 2007 after graduating from Northern Michigan University (Theta-Iota) with a degree in Outdoor Recreation, Leadership and Management. As a collegiate member, I held multiple officer and committee roles, attended TKE Regional Leadership Conferences, the TKE Leadership Academy, Conclave, served two years on the Collegiate Advisory Committee and was recognized as a Top Teke. From 2001 – 2011 I served in the Michigan Army National Guard, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant and deploying overseas in 2003 and 2010. Member of the TKE Order of the Shield, a Life Loyal Teke and a TKE Foundation Ambassador. Always looking for opportunities to grow, both personally and professionally.
What I Like To Do in My Free Time
My wife and I enjoy being active outdoors, biking, running, hiking and just about anything on the water. I completed my first marathon in 2021 and love to run obstacle course races. I like challenging myself in the kitchen and on the grill, much to the delight of my dog, often attempting to create dishes after seeing them on a show. I watch a variety of sports, including the Olympics, World Cup, Tour de France, Women’s College World Series, and will always root for my home state teams, especially the Lions, Tigers and Wolverines.
